The 3Arena is an indoor amphitheatre located at North Wall Quay in the Dublin Docklands. It opened as The O₂ in 2008 and it was built on the site of the former Point Theatre, a smaller music venue which operated from 1988 to 2007. It is a stunning, state of the art entertainment venue with the kind of world-class acoustics that great music deserves. The 3Arena Dublin is best accessed by the LUAS which you can take from Smithfield square right next to the hotel and it will drop you right outside the 3Arena.
Bord Gáis Energy Theatre
The Bord Gáis Energy Theatre is a performing arts venue, located in Grand Canal Square in Dublin Docklands area. The theatre was purpose-built and has the capacity to seat over 2,000 people. Since opening, it has played host to some of the most prestigious international acts. The Bord Gáis Energy Theatre is located 3km from Maldron Hotel Smithfield and just a 15-minute taxi journey away.
The Convention Centre Dublin (The CCD)
The Convention Centre Dublin (The CCD) is Ireland’s first purpose-built convention centre. It was developed to provide a world-class conference venue in Dublin. Located just 15 minutes from the airport in Spencer Dock, part of Dublin’s Docklands, the finance and technology hub of the city. The CCD plays host to some of the world’s most affluent conferences and exhibitions. Since The CCD opened in September 2010, we have hosted over 1,900 events.

As the home of Ireland’s largest sporting and cultural organisation, the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) – Croke Park has played host to iconic moments in Irish sport and history and to major cultural and international events. Croke Park has not only witnessed epic sporting battles on the pitch, but the stadium also hosted a number of international rock and pop acts. Each year hundreds of thousands of music lovers come to see their favourite musicians performing sell-out shows. Croke Park is located just 2.5km and a short taxi drive from Maldron Hotel Smithfield.
The Olympia Theatre
The Olympia Theatre is a well-known concert hall and theatre venue in the heart of Dublin City. The venue has played host to many well-known international artists down through the years. Located on Dame Street, it is just a 15-minute walk and 1.4km from Maldron Hotel Smithfield.
Vicar Street is a concert, performing arts centre and events venue and it has played host to hundreds of memorable shows since it opened in 1998. The venue is located on Thomas Street, Dublin 8. Vicar Street’s hugely atmospheric room and perfect sound and sightlines throughout has led it to become a firm favourite for both acts and fans alike. Maldron Hotel Smithfield is located within 15 minutes’ walk or 5 minutes by taxi from Vicar Street and is an ideal base for those visiting this phenomenal venue.
Marlay Park is a large outdoor park on the south side of Dublin city that has become a popular concert venue with numerous concerts taking place each year, including the Longitude Music Festival. The park comprises of woodlands, ponds and walks and also a golf course, two playgrounds and is very popular with locals. Every weekend there is a market filled with local produce and crafts. The 86 hectare suburban public park is located in Rathfarnham on the south side of Dublin, about 9 kilometres from Dublin city centre. With many transport links to choose from, it is very easy to reach Marlay Park from Dublin city centre.
